Cookie Policy

We're being straightforward here. PowerConnectIQ uses tracking technologies on our site. Most financial platforms do. This document explains what we track, why we track it, and how you can control it.
We've written this in plain language because legal jargon doesn't help anyone understand what's actually happening with their data.
Your Current Cookie Settings
What Are Tracking Technologies
When you visit powerconnectiq.com, small files get stored on your device. Think of them as digital sticky notes that help the site remember who you are and what you were doing.
These files come in different forms. Traditional cookies sit in your browser. Some technologies work through your browser's local storage. Others track sessions temporarily and disappear when you close the tab.
The important thing is they all do roughly the same job: they help websites function properly and remember your preferences. They also let us see how people use our site so we can make it better.
What We Actually Track on PowerConnectIQ
Essential Functionality
These keep the site working. They remember if you're logged in, what language you selected, and basic security tokens. Without them, you'd have to re-enter information constantly or the site simply wouldn't work properly.
Performance and Analytics
We track which pages get visited most, where people click, how long they stay, and where they leave. This tells us if our financial reporting tools are actually useful or if we need to redesign them. These don't identify you personally but they do show us patterns.
Preference Memory
If you adjust report display settings or choose to hide certain notifications, we remember that. These make the site feel more personal without us needing to know who you are specifically.
Marketing and Targeting
These track your journey across our site and sometimes beyond it. They help us show relevant content and occasionally serve ads if you see us on other platforms. These are the ones most people want to disable, and that's completely fair.
About Essential Tracking
Essential cookies can't be disabled because they're required for the site to function. Trying to use PowerConnectIQ without them would be like trying to drive a car without an engine.
These include session authentication, security verification, load balancing, and basic navigation memory. They don't track you for marketing and they expire when you close your browser or after a short period.
How This Actually Helps You
Look, we're not going to pretend this is all for your benefit. Tracking helps us run our business better. But there are genuine user benefits too.
For Returning Visitors
You don't have to reconfigure your dashboard every time you log in. Your preferred report formats stay set. If you were reviewing quarterly data from a specific subsidiary, we can keep that context when you come back.
For Site Improvements
When we see everyone abandoning a particular page, we know something's wrong with it. When a new feature gets heavy use, we know we built something worthwhile. This feedback loop makes the platform better for everyone using it.
For Security
Tracking unusual access patterns helps us spot potential security issues before they become problems. If someone tries to access your account from three different countries in an hour, we want to know about that.
Managing Your Browser Settings
Every modern browser lets you control tracking. The button above handles PowerConnectIQ specifically, but you can set browser-wide rules too.
Chrome / Edge
Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and Site Data. You can block all third-party tracking or clear everything stored.
Firefox
Options → Privacy & Security. Firefox has enhanced tracking protection built in and lets you set strict blocking rules.
Safari
Preferences → Privacy. Safari blocks most third-party tracking by default. You can make it even stricter if you want.
Mobile Browsers
Check your browser's settings menu under Privacy or Security. Mobile browsers generally have the same controls as their desktop versions.
Keep in mind that blocking all tracking might break parts of our platform. If something stops working after you change settings, that's probably why.
How Long We Keep This Data
Different tracking technologies have different lifespans. Here's what actually happens:
- Session tracking expires when you close your browser. These are temporary by nature.
- Functional preferences typically last 12 months. After a year of not visiting, we figure your preferences might have changed anyway.
- Analytics data gets aggregated and anonymized after 14 months. We keep the patterns but not the individual trails.
- Marketing trackers usually expire after 90 days, though third-party platforms might keep their own copies longer.
If you clear your browser data or reject tracking, everything associated with your device gets deleted immediately from our active systems.
Third-Party Tracking
We use some external services that place their own tracking files. Analytics platforms, content delivery networks, and occasionally advertising partners.
These companies have their own privacy policies. We try to work with reputable providers, but once data touches their systems, their rules apply. If you want complete control, you'll need to manage settings with those platforms directly or use browser extensions that block third-party tracking entirely.
Common third-party trackers on our site include analytics providers for measuring traffic patterns and performance monitoring tools that help us spot technical issues quickly.
Changes to This Policy
When we change how we handle tracking, we update this page and adjust the date at the top. Major changes get announced through our usual communication channels.
We're not going to email you every time we tweak a cookie duration or switch analytics providers. But if we start using tracking in fundamentally different ways, we'll make that clear and give you a chance to adjust your preferences.
